We're looking for a Product Sustainability & Environmental Compliance Manager to perform technical compliance assessments of environmental and sustainability requirements, and deliver the product compliance strategy to ensure Amazon Private Brands compliance. This includes developing methods of compliance, driving the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of product Sustainability & Environmental requirements. This is a global role that works closely with Regulatory Intel, legal, Sustainability, tech, sourcing and businesses teams. This role will ensure alignment of the product level compliance methodology with the Private Brands Sustainability strategy, and collaborate across multiple functions to streamline methods of compliance to simplify and scale solutions across multiple product categories.

Key job responsibilities

• Be the lead Compliance consult for all Sustainability & Environmental Compliance requirements

•Anticipate upcoming requirement creation or changes, and work with Private Brands Sustainability and business teams to Identify opportunities to pre-empt regulatory changes

• Work with the Regulatory Intelligence Team to complete impact assessments for existing, new and emerging and changing regulatory requirements

• Develop and maintain Sustainability & Environmental requirements to be consumed by Amazon Private Brands

• Work with subject matter experts across a range of product categories to ensure and maintain compliance with all Sustainability & Environmental regulatory requirements

• Partner with Sustainability teams to develop and implement Sustainability & Environmental policies, tools and methodologies for regulatory readiness

• Translate requirements to tech teams and vet solutions provided to inform recommendations to consolidate multiple requirements under the tech solutions

• Identify areas of opportunity around end to end Sustainability & Environmental management

About the team

The Policy and Compliance Team (PACT) identifies and analyses compliance requirements, with responsibility for Requirement Ingestion, Requirement Review and Assessment, Product-Type Protocol Management, Secondary Requirements. Lead Technical functions reside within this team, focused on escalations and Technical Assessments, for example Risk Assessment and Risk Frameworks, High Severity Product Safety Investigations, Regulatory Intelligence full impact assessments and Chemical Management.

Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

  • Experience in compliance, audit or risk management

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification

  • Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent

  • Master's degree or equivalent
