WTW Sourcing Operations Analyst in London, United Kingdom

The Sourcing Operations Analyst will report to the Head of Sourcing Operations and work within the Sourcing Operations team which is a key part of the Global Sourcing and Category Management Team and should ideally have experience in operational and strategic procurement processes. Experienced in the digitisation of procurement processes and responsible for providing guidance, support, product knowledge, client-side project management, implementation, configuration, and optimisation of SAP Ariba solutions. This role requires an understanding of procurement sourcing and category management and supporting business unit functions (finance, legal, risk & compliance) and industry standards, as well as the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive successful project outcomes.

The Sourcing Operations team primarily provides support to the Global Sourcing and Category Management teams based in the UK, US, France and India within procurement. This covers the approx. 40 colleagues who manage the day-to-day sourcing activities that rely heavily on the tools and processes that are provided to them by the Operations team. The role is an integral part of the team and will be relied upon support the current working practices, reporting & dashboards to enable the team to function efficiently.

The Sourcing Operations team also has an eye on the future by providing analytical insights using the underlying data. It is important for us to keep the data up to date and in a clean state, this role will play a big part in this extremely important aspect. The successful candidate will also have a creative and positive approach to problem solving and a strong collaborative approach with all other team members and stakeholders alike.

The Role:

  • SAP Ariba Upstream: Support the design, configuration, and deployment of SAP Ariba modules, supporting WTW’s interests, expectations, and the organisation’s procurement requirements. This includes analysing business processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as one of the go-to resources for all tooling and process related inquiries, providing expert guidance on system capabilities, integration options, and best practices. Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in procurement technology to enhance the organisation’s digital procurement processes continuously.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across procurement, supply chain, finance, legal, compliance and IT departments to understand their needs and align Sourcing Operations solutions with organisational objectives. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless integration and adoption of SAP Ariba solutions.

  • Solution Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvements, system enhancements, and automation within the SAP Ariba environment. Proactively address system issues, performance bottlenecks, and user concerns to optimise the overall procurement experience.

  • Training and Support: Support the development of training materials and conduct knowledge transfer sessions to empower end users with the necessary skills to leverage SAP Ariba effectively. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve user queries and ensure smooth system operation.

  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure SAP Ariba configurations align with regulatory requirements, SAP best practices, industry standards, and internal policies. Support the implementation of robust governance frameworks to maintain data integrity, security, and compliance within the procurement process.

  • Project Management: Collaborating with colleagues in the Sourcing Operations team and partners in risk, Legal, finance and compliance to effectively manage the deployment of tools and processes to extended geographies as we follow the future of finance in global delivery of Oracle and Ariba.

  • Reporting for Contracts database and Sourcing projects. Using the data, provide insights, improve quality and change mindsets. Using any outputs to provide Category Team performance for discussion which could lead into potential process improvements and sourcing opportunities.

The Requirements:

  • Experience working in Procurement Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Proven experience in supporting SAP Ariba solutions.

  • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, contract management, supplier management, and related areas.

  • Understanding of SAP Ariba modules such as Sourcing, Contracts Management.

  • Strong stakeholder collaborative relationship building skills and excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment while being self-motivated and proactive.

  • Production of quality Management Information and Reporting.

  • A strong analytical mindset

  • Creativity to seek, encourage and find non-traditional approaches to challenges.

  • Excellent communication skills and strong listening skills

  • Work with the WTW designated Software Integrator for system change requirements. Attending Design Authority and Change Advisory Board meetings as required.
