The ESG-eXcellence team's mission is to build a lasting, scalable and trusted ESG reporting infrastructure to satisfy regulatory requirements and stakeholders’ expectations. We translate external requirements into internal needs and build tools and mechanisms that enable Amazon businesses to meet their ESG reporting obligations and effectively manage their ESG opportunities and risks.
The ESG Risk team is looking for a Senior Manager, ESG Risk to lead the rapidly expanding ESG Risk Assessment program.
The Senior Manager, ESG Risk will drive the team’s mission to develop scalable mechanisms across Amazon to help identify, assess and manage environmental, social and governance financial risks and opportunities, supporting both regulatory ESG reporting requirements and business decision making. This team is responsible for delivering Amazon’s global climate risk assessments, delivering Impacts, Risks and Opportunities assessments and establishing the ESG Risk Governance program. The individual in this role will leverage their Risk management expertise, people management experience and stakeholder management skills to enable and mature ESG risk assessment approaches across different topical ESG areas. This position will help the organization stay ahead of emerging ESG regulations and best practices. This is a crucial role in aligning Amazon's ESG initiatives with the company's overall business strategy and growth plans.
Key job responsibilities
• Deliver Impacts, Risks and Opportunities assessments in line with EU CSRD requirements
• Deliver climate risk assessments in line with EU CSRD and ISSB requirements
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, business units and other corporate functions to effectively deliver the assessment of ESG impacts, risks and opportunities across Amazon globally
• Closely collaborate with Science and Tech teams to ensure the development of efficient and scalable risk assessments tools that serve compliance and business needs
• Align with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk assessments serving various business use cases and roll out the ESG Risk Governance framework
• Hire, manage and develop a diverse team of Risk specialists and program managers

Basic Qualifications
• Extensive relevant work experience at a senior level; across Risk Management, ESG Risk or related-roles in a corporate setting or consulting environment
• Experience managing highly effective teams
• Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders across both corporate and business functions, while meeting tight deadlines
• Ability to present at senior levels in the organization
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience or familiarity within the sustainability/ESG reporting or program management space
• Ability to deliver in ambiguity, work autonomously and multi-task in an agile environment
• Familiarity with current trends in corporate climate risk assessment methodology/reporting globally
