Ankura Senior Director, Disputes & Economics in London, United Kingdom

The position sits within our Disputes and Economics (D&E) team - one of Seven practices focused on client delivery services across the Firm.
Ankura is currently seeking an experienced economist to join our Disputes & Economics business in our London office. This is a varied role which involves carrying out litigation support, sector studies, econometric modelling and anti-trust, competition, and regulatory enquiries across different client sectors. Responsibilities
Participate in researching, estimation, writing reports for expert assignments.
Participate in business development and client outreach. The ability to cultivate client relationships, both within the team, and on your own.
Collect and analyse economic or financial data using either client systems, public domain data sources, or proprietary (paid) data sources.
Be able to estimate appropriate econometric models, appropriate tests, and necessary data transformations.
Provide input into client communications, both written and oral, related to analyses performed for senior level review. Ability to work under pressure and remain calm and professional in crisis situations. Ability to articulate timescales to manage client expectations. Ability to travel at short notice and support out of hours working if necessary.
Requirements
In your current role you will be a competent “number 2” to an expert, confidently running engagements on a day-to-day basis under an established expert within a consultancy firm.
You will be an experienced people manager running small teams, comfortable delegating and actively supporting the development of junior members of the team.
You are the primary point of contact with the lawyers and corporate clients in your current role.
Whilst experience of giving evidence / testifying isn’t necessary at this stage, you will have an aspiration to do so in the future,
You will be generating leads in your current role and be comfortable actively networking.
Post Graduate degree in economics.
Experience working in consulting and advisory services environment, economics or finance consultancy or regulatory bodies in the UK or overseas.
Experience working with most data/econometric software: STATA, Excel, among others.
Demonstrable experience authoring reports.
Scripting/programming experience specifically Python, R, C#, VBA, or Powershell
Understanding of memory, how to capture, data available and analysis skills also a plus
Understanding of how to communicate effectively and concisely with high level management and clients
Ability to approach projects both from a long-range and immediate view
Strong desire to work in a team in a collaborative environment to achieve common goals
Exceptional organisational skills.
Excellent report writing skills.
Good analytical and data management skills.
Problem solver with an enquiring mind.
Good team working skills and the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure within a team or as an individual.
Flexible attitude to working and be prepared to travel and work overseas for short periods.
