Aon are currently recruiting a Retro Broker to join our team in London.
This role will work with our Property team and you will support Account Executives (AE’s) and senior members of the team to execute reinsurance transactions and proactively manage client and market specific projects throughout the lifecycle of engagement.

What the day will look like
You will support Account Executives (AE’s) and senior members of the Property team to execute reinsurance transactions and proactively manage client and market specific projects throughout the lifecycle of engagement, including:
Working closely with AE’s and Analytics Lead’s to proactively manage the renewal process and successfully transact a reinsurance placement including
o Analysing clients’ reinsurance information to identify risk transfer solutions
o Designing proposed reinsurance structure and setting desk pricing with AE and Analytics Lead considering KPI’s, market dynamics and economic benefit
o Managing client expectations by communicating market dynamics and anticipated outcomes to client in advance of placement milestones
o Playing an active role in marketing and placement, handling queries, and providing regular client updates
o Developing and delivering strategic account reviews and account plans
Sourcing and actively developing new revenue opportunities in conjunction with AE’s and client teams
Supporting the implementation of client plans and client growth objectives, including RFP involvement
Supporting team projects by applying analytical skills to aid effective planning and identifying growth opportunities
Actively assisting with the development and administration of specific resources to advance market intelligence, including liaising with internal and external sources to advance market insight
Skills and experience that will lead to success
Minimum of 3 years of appropriate reinsurance broking, claims or technical and analytical underwriting experience including project and account management experience
Experience gained within the London Market and property losses, highly desirable
Developed negotiation skills.
Good communication skills and comfortable managing relationships internally and externally
Considers the underwriter’s perspective to adapt approach.
Invests time and resource in Research & Development to find new products/solutions to meet clients’ needs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
