Key job responsibilities

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) for our Apple platforms. As a QAE, you will serve as the quality lead and strategic owner for large cross-functional projects, help define the software development processes used, scope test requirements, and lead other engineers in creating quality test plans. You will get the opportunity to define quality metrics for complex projects, and identify trends to prevent future defects.

The successful candidate will have an interest in testing consumer-facing products, strong technical ability, excellent organisational skills, great communication skills, a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment, and, of course, a passion for TV and film.

A day in the life

You will work closely with the Product and UX teams as you develop high quality test plans for your features. As a QAE, you will be provided with multiple opportunities to show your leadership skills and recommend improvements to the way systems are designed and tested across Prime Video. You will be writing code using Swift and building automation the iOS platform. You will create tools, build scripts and invest in automation all with one final goal in mind - deliver a smooth and seamless video streaming experience to our customers

About the team

The Prime Video iOS team owns the Prime Video application for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. We regularly deliver a continually evolving and delightful experience to our continually expanding user base. The team is fully based in London, and comprises a mix of newer and more experienced members. We own a mature product that serves millions of customers, and for many is the primary way that interact with Prime Video.

As much as working hard, you will also have fun as part of the iOS team, welcomed by regular team outings and activities like board games, video game tournaments, and ongoing training opportunities. Working in a hybrid on-site/remote fashion, we're keen to ensure we remain interactive and regularly organize team events, to help maintain the team atmosphere we're so proud of fostering.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in automation testing

  • Experience in manual testing

  • Experience as QA lead on medium to large sized projects

  • Experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with at least one automated test framework like Selenium or Appium

  • Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality
