About the Role

You will take part in the design and development of Mendeley’s flagship researcher-productivity products.

Responsibilities

  • Leading development and execution of automated and performance testing for multiple products to consistently enable delivery of high-quality software products.

  • Working with multiple stakeholders to execute automated and performance tests and drive the adoption of testable, quality code and systems.

  • Working to identify and resolve root causes of testing and build-pipeline issues.

  • Identifying potential areas for process improvement, improved tooling or technology adoption and skill development, and drive adoption across multiple teams.

  • Driving and owning the delivery of Quality as a function across the company; track quality metrics and report on them.

  • Mentoring junior colleagues, lead technical initiatives to improve Quality and advocate for Quality at all levels of the organisation.

Requirements

  • Have an understanding of QA methodologies, process improvement and the software development process.

  • Able to lead the development and execution of performance and automation testing for large scale projects, both strategically and hands-on.

  • Experience in JavaScript/Typescript development.

  • Experience with Selenium and Playwright testing environments.

  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills, including summarising and effectively presenting discussions of complex technical issues.

  • Sound problem-solving experience involving leading teams in identifying, researching, and coordinating the resources necessary to effectively troubleshoot/diagnose complex project issues.

  • Experience in extracting/translating findings into alternatives/solutions; and identifying risks/impacts and schedule adjustments to facilitate management decision-making.
