Our Team:

Our team is responsible for handling Sovereign, Ratings and Curves data. These datasets are critical to fixed income market participants and over the last couple of years there has been increased investment to deliver this data quicker and more accurately to our clients. We have expanded and enhanced the availability of these datasets and have a global team ensuring we provide round the clock coverage across 180 countries.

What’s the role?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Global Manager to lead the Sovereigns, Ratings and Curves Data teams. Your team will be responsible for the data management, quality and timely delivery of content, while also growing our data offering by identifying and on-boarding additional datasets. You will be expected to drive the data strategy, aligning with our clients and key partners to understand their evolving needs and setting proactive strategies to ensure we deliver fit for purpose datasets.

Your teams will also be responsible for researching additional data sets to expand the coverage of our product as well as focus on developing their data modeling and ETL software skills. You will collaborate extensively with global colleagues, and partners across all business units including Product, Engineering, Sales & Analytics, and News.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Recruit, develop, and retain talent to create hard-working teams while leading regional teams with multiple team leaders directly reporting to you

  • Own the success of the team in achieving its goals and metrics alongside implementing and evolving plans for coverage and expansion for the product

  • Represent your product by visiting clients and/or engaging in industry events to promote our data products to have meaningful client interactions to build trust, understand their needs and deepen relationships

  • Ensure teams are focused on data management best practices such as data modeling to promote interoperability among all of Bloomberg's datasets

  • Drive workforce planning initiatives to create sustainable systems and ensure the correct resources and skills are in place to align with business needs

  • Drive the integration of technology to improve the workflow via the Engineering tech stacks to ensure expanded data coverage, quality improvements and efficiencies in delivering data faster to market

  • Work with global counterparts to build and implement a comprehensive data strategy and lead initiatives to completion

You’ll need to have:

*Please note we use years of experience as a guide, but we certainly will consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary for the role.

  • 8+ years of prior experience in management; leading diverse teams and promoting an inclusive environment*

  • A deep understanding of financial markets and an intimate understanding of how industry players use data to drive business decisions, specifically across Rates

  • Experience creating and/or leading development of data pipelines, improvements to data workflows, and comprehensive data models

  • Solid grasp of data management principles and technologies such as data modeling, data analysis skills to tell a narrative and/or make data-driven insights

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, allowing you to clearly communicate business needs, build strong client relationships and manage sophisticated partner relationships

  • Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau or QlikSense

  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of proven decision-making and problem-solving skills

  • Technical competence in at least one programming language/environment, e.g., Python, SQL, etc

We’d love to see:

  • A Master's degree (preferably in Finance, Economics or STEM field) and/or a professional qualification such as CFA or equivalent experience

  • Familiarity with Data Science and/or Machine Learning
