Sony Pictures Entertainment strives to create a premier People & Organisation team who support approximately 1000 employees across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and 400 across Asia Pacific (APAC). The L&D central team is based in the Los Angeles office and the global offering at Sony Pictures is robust and expansive. This role will be based in our Paddington, London office and will build on and continue embedding our existing L&D foundation, philosophy and strategy. This role supports the learning curricula and development planning for all our business entities across EMEA and APAC including Theatrical, Distribution, TV Production, and Corporate. The post holder will work with their counterparts in LatAm and Culver City to ensure alignment with global regions and identify economies of scale wherever possible.

The postholder will be a thoughtful and proactive leader with proven experience in all areas of an L&D function. They will have in-depth expertise in core L&D processes including designing and delivering training programmes for high-performing talent and leadership teams, identifying training needs and development objectives for employees at all career stages, leadership development, creating and implementing blended learning solutions, utilising both in-house resources and external partnerships. They will collaborate with key stakeholder across the business to craft strategies and programmes to improve talent management, and manage and facilitate training programmes across various formats, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid models.
Key elements of the role
Continuous evaluation of the current learning and development strategies for EMEA and APAC based on the long-term talent needs that have been identified from our business strategy in order to sustain success. This will be by understanding internal and external macro trends, conducting gap analyses, developing implementation plans and suggesting ways to continue to develop the learning offering
Support the implementation of talent development programs that align with our strategic goals and support leadership succession.
Continue to implement an approach to embed core skills learning across the business and identify new ways to help employees develop the knowledge, skills, behaviours, and mindsets needed for success now and in the future.
Use instructional design skills to design inspiring, motivating, and engaging team development learning for open-enrolment and in-tact team sessions in line with the team’s strategy and businesses’ needs.
In conjunction with the EMEA and APAC P&O Business Partners, foster collaborative relationships to support them to identify and develop learning needs and development initiatives. This role will be responsible for continuing to project manage the implementation of activities, manage vendors, coordinate resources and allocate budget in discussion with the VP P&O International.
Understand and engage with all lines of business to determine how the P&O Business Partners can best support diverse talent in each area by facilitating talent planning and supporting the crafting of individual development plans.
Effectively manage the L&D Budget.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
Extensive experience in Learning and Talent. At least eight years’ experience in L&D/Talent Development, in which time you will have demonstrated the design and delivery of development programmes which have resulted in positive change for teams.
Experience of talent and succession planning, with hands-on experience of tools such as the 4, 6 or 9 box grids.
A global perspective and the ability to work with diverse audiences and cultures, adapting style in order to effectively communicate.
Demonstrable self-awareness, adapting to ambiguous situations to deliver against organisational goals.
Certification in instructional design to show ability to identify learner needs, create instructional plans, and develop materials to meet educational objectives effectively.
Certifications/accreditations in workshop facilitation, feedback tools and/or personality profiles (desirable)
Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with experience of offering development interventions using various delivery methods in a range of settings from big to small and in person as well as online.
The ability to effectively manage multiple projects, budgets and suppliers at the same time

Strong verbal and written communication skills to influence and collaborate across all levels
