The Investment Banking Senior Analyst is for the origination and execution of syndicated loan & acquisition financing transactions for corporates, financial institutions, and GREs across the UK, Europe and CEEMEA.
The Senior Analyst, working in the Loans & Acquisition Financing team (within Loans & Leveraged Finance), will participate in all client activities including marketing, structuring, execution and ongoing relationship management.
You will join a dynamic team and will have substantial exposure to several teams across Citi, including Debt Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate and Commercial Banking, Risk Management, Derivatives Solutions, Credit Trading and Ratings Advisory across a wide variety of countries and industries.
The overall objective of this role is to act as a strategic financing advisor to our clients by formulating loan financing solutions and raising capital for clients.
Responsibilities:
· Participation in the origination, structuring and syndication of loan and acquisition financing solutions for corporate, financial institution and GRE clients in UK, Europe and CEEMEA
· Contributing to idea generation and the pitching process, helping to win new business and developing Citi’s franchise by building and maintaining client relationships at a junior level
· Driving the preparation of presentation materials, customized term sheets, capital markets and credit approval packages and marketing materials
· Participating in structuring, negotiating, and documenting loan transactions
· Managing internal processes and partnering with Corporate and Investment Banking, Risk, Legal and other Citi teams
· Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Qualifications:
· Two years of relevant full-time investment banking experience required (ideally debt capital markets, leveraged finance, investment banking, corporate banking, or risk management)
· Fluent English - additional language skills are desirable
· Energetic, self-motivated, and adaptable
· Extensive credit and corporate finance analytical skills
· Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
· Thoughtful analytical skills; able to develop, clearly present and draw conclusions
· Good judgement, maturity and poise to enable interaction at all levels
· Financial modelling skills preferred
· Excellent organizational skills; ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
· Ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment in order to meet deadlines
Education:
· Bachelor's degree / University degree, equivalent experience or higher
