Interim Senior Finance Consultant (9-month FTC) - London About finova & MSO

About the role

The finance function is undergoing significant change following a major investment in August 2024. Reporting to the CFO, this role will support the CFO across a range of critical and strategic finance projects. This role requires a hands-on approach and a strong understanding of accounting and tax for software businesses.

About You:

You will be a key finance team member for finova and you will feel comfortable collaborating with other members of the team and wider Group. You will be confident in your technical ability and able to communicate effectively with non-financial staff. In terms of your experience, your attitude is everything, but we'd particularly love to see:

• Qualified chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

• Financial accountant experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment – ideally within a B2B SaaS / tech software industry

• Qualified chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

• Minimum 5 years PQE working in a fast-paced SME environment  

• Strong working knowledge of all accounting and financial control processes.

• Strong understanding of IFRS and UK tax requirements is a must.

• Excellent accounting background, with experience of acquisition accounting, intangible valuations, debt structures, consolidations, foreign currencies, share-based payments, business combinations, and R&D capitalization.

• Understanding of India reporting and tax is desirable.

• Experience in the software industry or other technology-driven sectors preferred

• Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders within an organisation.

What will you be doing?

• Prepare 18-month accounts to December 2024 for the group of companies, including 6 newly set up entities and 2 sets of acquisitions and disposals.

• Lead the project to transition the group from UK GAAP to IFRS reporting.

• Lead the audit of the group companies on behalf of the finance function.

• Review and harmonise accounting and tax policies across the group.

• Harmonise the group's Chart of Accounts and support the finance team to consolidate and set up new finance systems.

• Lead the group tax planning for the group, supported by external advisers.

• Lead the project to rationalize and simplify the group's legal entity structure.

• Working with external advisers, lead and oversee the R&D tax claims process for the group.

• Lead the reporting for external investors / lenders and set up models for covenant tests and ongoing reporting.

• For all of the above, work with the finance function to create an embedded and sustainable reporting structure.
