Job Description
Group Health & Safety Advisor
The role will provide business wide operational support, advice and guidance, taking the approach to actively engage business stakeholders, build awareness, and promote ownership among business leaders and line managers.
The role is onsite based at the London Bridge offices, with the option to work remotely for 2 days a week, business requirements permitting.
Day to day tasks as follows:
Provide advice and guidance to wider business, taking a pragmatic and solution driven approach
Prepare and review risk assessments, and assist the wider business in the development of their risk assessment processes
Assist the wider business in the development and implementation of safe working practises
Monitor and administrate the Occurrence Reporting scheme
Oversee the investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses
Review safety performance through data collection and analysis
Attend production development meetings and provide real time advice and guidance
Conduct periodic production activity inspections
Carry out periodic Group site workplace inspections
Liaise with stakeholders to identify training needs, and assist with development and maintenance of our training programme
Deliver training – New starter inductions, Fire Marshal, Manual Handling, Risk Assessment, Toolbox talks.
Assist with planning, coordination and review of fire drills and other emergency exercises
Prepare personal emergency evacuation plans
Carry out new and expectant mother risk assessments
Assist and guide in contractor vetting
Collaborate and participate alongside Group team members to plan and deliver an engagement programme – mini events, workshops, panels
Co-chair Health & Safety Committee meetings
Support with roll out of mental health agenda
Development opportunity areas
Assist Group Head with:
Developing overarching strategy, objectives and SPIs
Identifying opportunity for growth and continuous improvement of the Group remit
Reviewing and developing policy and procedures (existing and new)
Develop internal training packages
Prepare internal audit criteria checklists and conduct internal audits.
We offer a flexible working arrangement where employees are expected to be in the office a minimum of three days per week. For the remaining two days, there is the option to work remotely if desired.
