The primary goals of the UK&ICC LFO team are to provide best-in-class decision support to the UK & ICC Consumer Business including analytical insights, strategic guidance and financial planning. Delivering on these goals requires in-depth thought leadership and knowledge of product-line economics and UK&ICC P&Ls, as well as highly tuned relationship skills.

The Analyst will be responsible for financial reporting and forecasting as well as providing strategic insights through data analytics.

The role offers a high level of exposure and numerous opportunities to gain in-depth insights to real business challenges in the UK&ICC Consumer world. It will require the ability to communicate clearly, challenge and influence business partners and collaborate extensively with colleagues across the Consumer Finance teams and the business.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Help deliver Month-End reporting and financial analysis with a remit including, but not limited to, Lend Margin and certain Opex lines.

  • Collaborate with central finance teams and local business partners to understand financial performance drivers and flag areas of risk or opportunity, as well as supporting yearly and long-range planning.

  • Evaluate product-line and business-line economics – investments, deals, partnerships and products – with financial analysis based on robust financial modelling, reasoned and thoughtful assumptions and clear, rationale output.

  • Partner closely with the acquisition and marketing teams to provide consultative guidance on investment planning, drive engagement and transparency and influence trade-offs to develop a robust investment pipeline, and ensure integrity in the investment decision tools.

  • Provide high quality and value-added analysis and presentations on investment performance, product profitability and market trends to influence strategic business decisions.

  • Collaborate across various finance teams, including central BU FP&A, Risk Finance, Treasury, Lend Centre of Excellence and FDS to provide consultative guidance on month end, risks and opportunities, financial and investment planning, and long-range plans.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of Consumer card economics

  • Strong analytical skills with experience of financial modelling and data analytics in Microsoft Excel to prepare insights and identify key messages

  • Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills, including the ability to discuss financial results and analysis with finance and non-finance business partners at differing levels of seniority.

  • Ability to work independently under pressure and prioritise effectively, to meet deadlines, deliver results, and manage multiple tasks without compromising quality

  • Ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with partners across multiple functions and influence others without having direct authority

  • Strong drive for results & delivery of high-quality decisions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CFA)

  • Advanced TM1, Oracle and Cornerstone knowledge (or willingness to learn).
