We’re looking for someone to join our team in perhaps one of the most exciting times in the brand’s history to bring this transformation to life.

Purpose of the Role

Diageo brand teams are the custodians of our brands and work to ensure the future growth and success of said brand. As a member of this team you will be the guardian of one of Diageo’s oldest and most respected brands (Justerini & Brooks) and work to bring our brand to life through experiences in the fine wine & rare whisky world at the highest execution standards, engaging our private clients, trade customers and wine press. You will also support our grower’s agenda in their market visits.

J&B experiences should help sales, promote a wine or whisky, vintage or grower and give the marketing team news to publicise. Events must have a clear objective, always be of high end, take place in the best venues around the world, never being crowded nor rushed. And in changing times, adjust quickly to our customers’ demands.

Key Accountabilities:

Functional:

  • Running of the experiences calendar: En Primeur key tastings, portfolio / regional tastings : taking our key events and running end to end events in London, Edinburgh and Hong Kong ensuring the taking care of growers who attend. Working with sales and marketing teams to ensure a successful campaign throughout. Supporting the whisky team in running the whisky events calendar

  • Coordinating events calendar for Burlington Arcade: overseeing the experiences calendar run at Burlington Arcade with help of the team on site and making sure we own a coordinated experience calendar that demonstrates relevant touchpoints

  • Growers Support: connecting our internal teams and our customers to our growers to improve wine education and sales. When growers are able to travel, being responsible for their visits, ensuring their trips are valuable and tailored. Setting up ticketed dinners, visits in the trade and customer events.

  • Wine PR & Partnerships: ensure wine experiences are generating the right PR by working alongside our PR agency to host the right press & critics to relevant events. Support the PR agency in delivering PR campaigns. Recommend strategic brand partnerships and work alongside their events team making sure we show up in relevant spaces and in the right way

  • Internal: Keeping the team advised of the experience's schedule ensuring a smooth flow of information. Best practice sharing to provide a high and consistent standard of delivery of events across all markets.

In general:

  • Ensure that brand guidelines are being adhered to at all Justerini & Brooks events (incl. wine & whisky)

  • Handle experiential budget optimally and in time

  • Own and drive a robust measurement & evaluation process of our comms and activations for a more efficient use of our investment

Qualifications and experience required

  • A strong events, hospitality or PR background and an extensive experience portfolio that demonstrates a wide range of events of varying scope and scale

  • Deep knowledge of wine - WSET level 3 minimum

  • Good knowledge of the spirits industry with focus on whisky

  • Ability to handle and prioritise multiple events, agencies and deadlines across multiple countries

  • Run and maintain events budgets.

  • Brief and lead key senior partners.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent judgment, particularly in narrow timeframes and times of ambiguity.

  • Willingness to work hard and roll up sleeves to get work done, even when at times it is outside the scope of the job.

  • Provide project management mentorship and act as a subject matter authority in conjunction with other Justerini & Brooks teams to complete high profile, large events, or otherwise strategic events with 100% success

  • This is an office based role but the successful candidate will be required to work flexibly in the evenings when required (estimated to be circa 4 x month)
