Amazon Business Development Manager (German-speaking), FTC 12 months, Alexa International in London, United Kingdom

Description

The Amazon Alexa EMEA Enterprise team is looking for a Business Development Manager with the right blend of account management, sales enablement and sales operations skills to grow the Alexa Smart Properties business in Europe, with a particular focus on Germany.

Reporting into the Head of Alexa Enterprise, France and Germany and working closely with the Sr BD Manager for Germany, the BD Manager will nurture existing clients and partners and generate leads in the senior care and hospitality industries. The BD Manager will also support other teams in the Alexa Enterprise EMEA organization as needed.

Please note: This role is a 12 month fixed term contract. Due to this, we cannot sponsor visas or support with relocation costs. Please do not apply if you require these.

Key job responsibilities

Account Management and Customer Success:

  • Nurture existing relationships with key partners in Germany to deliver against agreed account plans in close coordination with tech, product and legal teams.

  • Ensure there is alignment with top customer priorities to help customers get value from Alexa Smart Properties.

  • Manage existing solution providers, with support where needed from Sr Business Development Manager and Sr Solutions Architect.

Sales Enablement and Lead Generation:

  • Support sales enablement efforts for enterprise partners, contributing to event organization, content creation & localization.

  • Identify new opportunities for Alexa Smart Properties in Germany and organize customer pitch meetings, leveraging other Amazon teams as needed.

  • Prepare pitch presentations and attend pitch meetings with Sr BD.

  • Ensure timely follow-ups and progress towards deal closure, in close coordination with Sr BD.

Sales operations (pan-EU):

  • Create template for regular business reviews with partners.

  • Audit performance metrics and flag potential issues to relevant BDSA teams.

  • Create Salesforce dashboards to review progress vs goals in regular BD meetings.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience in business development, partner development, sales or alliances management

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Fluent English speaker + one additional European language (German preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software

  • Experience setting up and managing a sales pipeline

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Fluent German speaker

  • Experience in customer success, sales enablement and sales operations

  • Experience working with technology to achieve results

  • Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple responsibilities in parallel.

  • Strong ownership and ability to work independently to drive results

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, innovative, and rapidly evolving industry and business organization
