Description
Amazon is seeking an employee benefits manager to join our Europe Benefits team. This role will be located in London and will partner extensively with internal stakeholders and external partners on the strategy, design and delivery of employee benefits. Qualified candidates need to have industry experience in managing multi-country benefit programs and in leading teams.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, works effectively with internal and external contacts, has proven abilities to manage multiple critical projects concurrently through to successful completion, to manage and develop a team, and enjoys the challenges of developing and improving programs and service delivery in a highly dynamic environment. This role will be responsible for leading benefits for select countries in Europe and identify new opportunities to meet the needs of our diverse and rapidly growing businesses.
Periodic global travel is required.
Key job responsibilities
Strategic Benefit Management and Design - this position will be responsible for country benefit plans (statutory requirements and typical market practices) and developing benefit program proposals for your countries that align to Amazon’s Global Benefits Strategy.
Implementation - you will be responsible for all implementation activities of approved benefit programs, including selection and setup of benefit providers, creating project plans, assembling resources, and developing and documenting processes and policies through stabilization period.
Governance - ensuring programs align to Amazon’s benefit philosophy and meet local regulatory requirements. This also includes monitoring costs, financial impact, future funding requirements, competitiveness of package, ensuring adherence with regulatory, legal and best practice approaches.
Expansion Program Management - act as subject matter expert for expansion activity within your countries including setting up of new entities, new benefits and implementing global programs.
Consulting – become a trusted advisor to International Compensation and Benefits team, local HR, payroll and our vendors to ensure high quality delivery of all benefit programs and initiatives.
Communication and Influence - Communicates the value of new or existing benefits programs and provides recommendations to different design changes that will enhance our employee’s quality of life and influence stakeholders to get buy-in and approvals.
Vendor management – recommends standards for vendor performance. Maintains vendor performance by identifying and monitoring performance issues and ensures resolutions.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with additional qualifications in business, finance, HR or related field.
Experience working within the field of global benefits development, administration and governance.
Experience on employee benefit plan's design including healthcare, worker’s compensation and pension schemes along with associated complexities of plan administration, associated payroll processes, country level regulatory requirements and benefits program taxability.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with large scale global employee benefit plans programs development and delivery.
Excellent English written and verbal communications skills.
Ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
Ability to influence business leaders. Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy of discretion through ambiguous phases of expansion project development.
Strong sense of accountability, sound personal judgment and global business acumen.
Great organizational skills with exceptional follow through and attention to detail.
Proven abilities in vendor management and establishing effective partnerships with external service providers to ensure quality service to Amazon.
Verbal and written communication skills, including the proven ability to effectively influence, negotiate and communicate with business partners and teams to meet operational goals.
Successful record of building operational processes and procedures as well as global partnerships, driving program efficiency along with measuring and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
