What to expect
As the Chief Operating Engineer, you will lead the Operating Engineering team within the factory. Your role will involve providing specialized support to Operations across various processes, including Product, Energy, Water, Ammonia, Utilities, and Thermal. You will ensure that health and safety, product safety, and environmental standards are upheld without compromise, while also enhancing business objectives and operational performance. Additionally, you will oversee the introduction of new fixed assets into the facilities, which may include the relocation and optimization of the current fixed asset base.
A day in the life
Manage a team of Operating Engineers, and coordinate with other factory maintenance functions and third-party contractors.
Support the Innovation and Renovation process, maintaining links for new products and technologies with various functions
Ensure compliance with all applicable systems (energy and environmental, ammonia refrigeration, steam boilers, water and wastewater treatment, fire sprinkler and alarms, compressed air, explosive atmospheres and gas management)
Ensure processes and equipment are safe for people, products and environment, in line with all corresponding local, Technical Standard Safety Authority and Nestle regulations, including emergency response roles.
Provide specific engineering support for the development and implementation of the MBS, whilst fostering high performance operations.
Maintain key documentation of pressure vessels, project and factory utilities drawings, equipment manuals and documentation.
Support and implement the corresponding aspects of Nestle Continuous Excellence to the function
Represent the function in all technical initiatives / events
Project Management, including proposal and control of capital projects
Role Requirements
2nd Class Operating Engineer Ticket
Chief Operating Engineer experience.
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in ammonia refrigeration.
Demonstrated problem-solving and leadership skills and can deliver results through people.
Proven ability to manage projects and consistently meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and excel at working within a cross-functional teams
Must be able to manage a highly demanding environment and cope with the needs of a 24/7 operation.
