GKN Automotive Technical Specialist Kinetic Modelling (m/f/d) in Lohmar, Germany

Key responsibilities

  • Team member in the Analysis & Simulation team within Advanced Engineering Driveline

  • Development of advanced modelling tools (incl. proposals for specifications) for kinetic simulation of CVJs, driveshaft systems and drivetrain components.

  • Maintenance, continuous improvement, and user support for modelling tool landscape (Statistical tools, DoE etc.)

  • Kinetic model building and execution of modelling work requests, parameter & sensitivity studies

  • Global support of CAE activities within GKN Driveline

  • Contribute to CAE feasibility studies & development programs with a focus on kinetic modelling

  • Cross functional team member & support for other Driveline product technology related development programs incl. design optimization

  • Validation of virtual test by physical test

  • Problem solving support for application engineering in C/D phase

  • Initiate and drive innovation for Driveline products & methods

  • Understand and comply with relevant GKN DES Standards and processes.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • MSc Degree in mathematics, Techno-Mathematician or comparable

  • Excellent skills in mathematics (essential); abstract thinking abilities, ability to read and create algorithms (essential)

  • Fundamental understanding of technical mechanics, ideally joint kinetics / kinematics

  • Experience with kinetic modelling software MSC-Adams (Multibody Dynamics) or any other MSC or Altair product beneficial

  • Experience with GKN modelling tool KoJaC beneficial

  • Excellent programming skills in VBA, Fortran, and Python and long-term experience with various compilers

  • Good project management skills, experience with version management

  • Autonomous working style, excellent problem-solving mindset

  • Full professional proficiency in English and German language

  • Experience with GKN modelling tool KoJaC beneficial.

  • Excellent programming skills in VBA, Fortran, and Python and long-term experience with various compilers.

  • Secure handling of MS Office products.

  • Good project management skills, experience with version management.

  • Autonomous working style, excellent problem-solving mindset.

  • Full professional proficiency in English and German language.
