Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to oversee the efficient dispatch of parcels between cities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery process, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring timely and accurate parcel deliveries. This role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Parcel Dispatch Coordination:
- Plan and execute the daily dispatch of parcels between cities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Schedule and monitor transportation methods, including trucks, courier services, and other logistics providers.
Route Optimization:
- Identify the most cost-effective and time-efficient routes for parcel deliveries.
- Collaborate with drivers and transportation partners to minimize delays and costs.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Act as the primary point of contact between the company, drivers, and clients for delivery updates.
- Handle inquiries, complaints, and special requests related to parcel delivery.
Inventory and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, delivery schedules, and client requirements.
- Prepare and verify shipping documents, invoices, and tracking information.
Performance Monitoring:
- Track and analyze delivery performance metrics (e.g., on-time delivery rates, cost efficiency).
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all dispatch activities comply with local transportation regulations.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols for parcel handling and transportation.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience:
- Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or dispatch coordination (1--3 years preferred).
Familiarity with parcel delivery systems and transportation methods.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and tools (e.g., TMS, WMS, or ERP systems).
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to address delivery challenges.
Other Requirements:
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings, as needed.
Valid driver's license (if required for specific transportation tasks).
