About the role:

Barry Callebaut Digital (BC Digital) is on a mission to lead the digital revolution in the chocolate industry, and we're looking for a (Senior) Director of Master Data Projects, to build a foundation for data-driven decision-making, based on accurate and consistent master data records. Leading the Master Data Projects team, you will contribute to our digital and data-driven future by ensuring smooth master data project completions, as well as a successful project risk resolution.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee all data-related activities for global programs and projects conducted every year in BC, reporting to the [(Senior) Director/Head of] Master Data Management - 100 projects every year (SAP Implementations, Digital programs, Transformation initiatives, Improvement projects, etc).

  • Co-lead - heavy on data- programs, and projects - eg. Data Stream in S4H preparation.

  • Lead the Master Data platform implementation.

  • Manage the project outsourcing partner(s), contribute to contract arrangements, create KPIs, and framework agreement, and ensure the expected delivery.

  • Lead a globally distributed team of data stewards and data custodians, ensuring master data projects comply with the aligned scope, timeline, capacity planning, and budget.

  • Support central project portfolio management in annual and mid-term planning processes, and project controlling.

  • Represent the master data team in project SteerCos.

  • Own and enhance our project execution methodology for master data projects.

  • Provide guidance and support to your team, enabling them to lead and manage master data projects, as well as the successful resolution of project risks and issues (e.g. opening, acquisition of new production facilities, onboarding of new production lines).

  • Oversee the coordination of project portfolio timelines, ensuring alignment with all required stakeholders (e.g. business, regions, etc.).

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and ensure that business requirements are understood and reflected in our projects.

  • Oversee and support relevant audits required for master data management projects.

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, aiming for efficient and highly automated operations.

  • Prioritize master data project initiatives based on business value and steer the implementation of new technologies.

About you:

  • Graduate degree in IT/technology, data, computer science, engineering, business administration, or a comparable field.

  • Proficiency in English.

  • Deep understanding of roles, processes, and technologies around master data management incl. related trends, and best practices.

  • 15+ years of experience in managing data in diverse global programs.

  • Experience in SAP implementations and transformation Programs.

  • Solid experience in managing outsourcing partners in the project delivery field.

  • Ability to lead very diverse & dispersed teams of 20-30 people (internals & externals).

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including the management of multicultural, dispersed teams.

  • Experienced in building up and managing state-of-the-art master data projects.

  • The ability to bring people together and mobilize individuals to pursue a joint agenda.

  • Demonstrated success in leading diverse teams & driving change in a collaborative way on a global scale.

  • Independent and self-driven personality, highly developed communication & influencing skills.

  • Ability to separate key data design topics vs regular ones.

  • Skills to create internal and external partnerships/networks across the organization.

  • Exhibits a passion for data-centric technology and innovation, constantly seeking new and creative solutions to enhance processes, decision-making, and user experiences.

  • Embraces agile methodologies and flexible thinking to adapt to changing digital trends and business needs.

  • Puts a strong emphasis on teamwork and cross-functional collaboration, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across different levels of the organization and with external partners.

  • Possesses good communication skills.

  • Demonstrates ability to analyze complex situations, identify critical issues, and make bold, strategic decisions to drive progress.
