About th role:
The Senior Manager will be responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive data governance framework specific to financial data, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving data-driven decision-making processes. This role requires strong leadership skills, exceptional knowledge of financial data management, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities:
Responsible for leading the Data Governance FP&A team, covering data governance across different functional areas
Responsible for definition and implementation of financial data governance, standards and policies, including consistency and accuracy of financial data across different systems and sources, globally.
Create and maintain data governance frameworks, including data dictionaries, management processes and data quality controls
Integration of financial data from different sources and systems, including resolving of data quality issues with IM/IT and MD
Manage access control to sensitive financial information in line with agreed policies and principles
Partner with other finance departments and business leaders to understand their data needs and provide tailored analytical support
Evaluate and implement data analytics tools and technologies to enhance FP&A capabilities, foster a culture of data-driven decision -making by promoting the use of analytics across the organization
Maintain standardized reporting tools and dashboards (incl. data visualizations)
Design and develop financial dashboards and reports to communicate key insights and performance metrics, make sure these reports and visualizations are user-friendly, intuitive, and aligned with stakeholder requirements.
Develop and maintain advanced analytics models
Create a roadmap and manage implementation of data governance and analytics initiatives
Drive adoption of data governance practices within the FP&A team
Data Governance Strategy:
Develop and implement a robust data governance strategy and framework specifically for financial data, aligned with the organization's overall data governance objectives
Define data governance policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices
Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of data governance initiatives
Collaborate with executive stakeholders to gain support and alignment for the data governance strategy
Data Governance Implementation:
Lead the implementation of financial data governance initiatives across the organization
Create and maintain data governance frameworks, including data dictionaries, management processes and data quality controls
Develop and implement data governance tools, technologies and systems to support data management, data quality and data access controls
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of data governance solutions into existing technology infrastructure
Data Quality and Compliance:
Establish and enforce data quality standards and controls for financial data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity
Work closely with compliance and legal teams to ensure data governance practices align with regulatory requirements (such as GDPR, etc) and financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP)
Conduct audits and assessments to identify and mitigate data-related risks and develop remediation plans when necessary
Monitor and report on data quality metrics, highlighting areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
Stakeholder Collaboration and Leadership:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, IT, compliance and legal to ensure alignment and coordination in implementing data governance initiatives
Provide guidance and support to business units and departments in implementing data governance best practices and adhering to data policies and standards
Foster a culture of data governance and data-driven decision-making throughout the organization
Effectively communicate data governance objectives, progress and outcomes to executive stakeholders and board members
About you:
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science or a related field. Advanced degree preferred
Understanding of financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, GDPR, CCPA)
Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in financial data management, data governance or a related role, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity
Strong knowledge of financial data governance frameworks, standards and regulations
Expertise in data governance tools, technologies, and best practices
