Purpose

Responsible for the data capture, analysis & reporting of data information to assist the Trinity Health leadership team achieve operational efficiency. Responsible for auditing of department information, producing reports, & suggesting improvements to processes. Provides knowledge & expertise in the program, services & applications.

Work Focus: Researches, collects & analyzes information. Identifies opportunities, develops solutions, & leads through resolution. Collaborates on performance improvement activities as indicated by outcomes in program efficiency & patient experience. Responsible for distribution of analytical reports.

Process Focus: Utilizes multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports & develop educational materials. Incorporates basic knowledge of TH policies, practices & processes to ensure quality, confidentiality, & safety are prioritized. Demonstrates knowledge of departmental processes & procedures & ability to readily acquire new knowledge.

Data Management & Analysis: Research & compiles information to support ad-hoc operational projects & initiatives. Synthesizes & analyzes data & provides detailed summaries including graphical data presentations illustrating trends & recommending practical options or solutions while considering the impact on business strategy & supporting leadership decision making. Leverages program & operational data & measurements to define & demonstrate progress, ROI & impacts.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, state & local laws/regulations, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program & Code of Conduct, as well as other policies, procedures & guidelines in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects safe, honest, ethical & professional behavior & safe work practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

Three (3) to five (5) years of industry/private industry finance experience

  • Rare clinical / patient facing work environment.

  • Includes continuous work time indoors (subject to travel requirements) under temperature-controlled & well-lit conditions; may encounter occasional variable external environmental conditions.

  • Includes occasional lifting, up to 30 pounds unassisted, frequent travel & use of computer; Includes continuous sitting & may require rare long periods of continued walking, standing, stooping, bending, pulling & pushing.

  • Direct Healthcare & Indirect / Support Healthcare Services: must be able to:

Addendum: Functional Roles

  • Assists in the financial evaluation of key strategies and serves as a linkage between ministry and system finance.

  • Provides support and assistance to the Manager and Director Financial Operations through collaboration with key strategic partners including Decision Support, Payor Strategies, Reimbursement, Revenue Excellence, Financial Reporting, Accounting, Human Resources, Legal, Integrated Clinical Services, Medical Group, Strategic Planning, Operations Excellence and others to streamline reporting and identify operational deficiencies.

  • Independently pulls and analyzes data to assists the Financial Operations department in the development of presentations, reports, dashboards and other tools to monitor progress of key metrics, trends and initiatives.

  • Supports the department in the review of ministry operating and capital annual plans, operational performance improvement plans, compensation plans, strategic financial plans, physician transactions and other investments as needed. Works closely with ministry finance teams to ensure financial integrity of submitted requests.

  • Provides guidance to finance and non-finance colleagues.
