Insight Global Controls Engineer in Livonia, Michigan

Job Description

* Support the assembly and machining controls engineering deliverables for PTO programs, from simultaneous engineering through program launch for all Global PTO sites.

* Working directly with suppliers and overseeing their work for controls engineering.

* Overseeing projects and delivering on programs will be the main goal of this goal.

* Implement and apply standard software and hardware controls architectures across all programs/plants, following the PTO controls specification.

* Ensure the identification and capture of lessons learned along with their application to new programs, as well as the impact to existing strategies and standards.

* Support simultaneous engineering meetings with Tier I suppliers to orchestrate controls program reviews with all interested parties.

* Participate in management program reviews and represent the controls organization in commodity discussions.

* Drive the controls organization to resolve issues, including feasibility, timing, cost and workload.

* Handle current scope program responsibilities.

* Deliver new model program work for various Powertrain programs

Skills and Requirements

* Experience working as a Controls Engineer

* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or software engineering

* Extensive software programming experience - Siemens based preferred

* Direct program experience with assembly and machining controls architectures (hardware/software)

* Validated programming capabilities with Siemens, Schneider, Bosch PLCs and with CNC/Motion controls systems

* Hands-on knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and fix PLC, CNC, robot, vision and other automation issues

* Demonstrated skill in cell machining systems and integration of CNC controls, gantries and auxiliary equipment

* Experience overseeing projects, delivering on programs

* Strong leadership, go getter attitude will be leading the suppliers null
