Oracle Software Development Manager in Little Rock, Arkansas

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated manager to lead a team responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our mission-critical systems. In this role, you will recruit, mentor, and manage a team of talented engineers while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence. You will own the development and execution of strategies to achieve high service availability, define and monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Agreements (SLAs), and drive continuous improvement through automation and best practices. As a key leader, you will oversee incident management, root cause analysis, and implement proactive measures to reduce downtime and improve system resilience

Responsibilities

  • Build, mentor, and manage a team of Engineers and SREs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Define and manage team goals, priorities, and performance metrics aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Partner with recruiting teams to attract and hire top-tier talent.

  • Ensure the availability, performance, and scalability of critical systems and services.

  • Drive initiatives to achieve high uptime and meet Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

  • Monitor systems, resolve incidents, and lead post-incident reviews to implement corrective actions.

  • Develop and enforce best practices for incident management, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.

  • Establish and maintain runbooks, playbooks, and other documentation for operational processes.

Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically one year of software engineering or related experience.
