Summary:

Arkansas Children's Nutrition Center - Full-time (40 hrs/wk)

Perform standard analytical tests and experiments in support of biotech research projects. Operate laboratory equipment and instruments. Experienced with standard chemistry and molecular biology lab practices and techniques

Additional Information:

Seeking personnel to work in a metabolomics and analytical chemistry research laboratory, as a member of a dynamic team, which primarily use chromatography and mass spectrometry to evaluate the biomarker status of healthy and patient populations. Our laboratory routinely conducts biological tissue sample preparation for LCMS workflows, where staff are responsible for following general research and safety protocols, recording in laboratory workbooks, and generating data for reports and publications. Analytical chemistry or experience using chromatography is highly desirable.

Description

  1. Assists with operation of analytical equipment.

  2. Assists with quantitating various nutrients, chemicals, drugs and/or metabolites, ensuring quality and accurate results are provided.

  3. Assists with extractions of metabolites and DNA extractions from a variety of biological substrates.

  4. Assists with maintenance of laboratory equipment to keep it in proper working condition.

  5. Observes and learns about the proper handling of radioactive and other hazardous chemicals.

  6. Performs other duties as assigned.
