Position Overview
Cromwell Architects Engineers is seeking a mechanical designer with a BSME and EI certification. Candidates should have good communication skills, be well organized, and have the ability to work in a flexible environment. A strong understanding in HVAC/mechanical design is required.\ Experience in mechanical design of projects from initial concept through construction documents to building completion; including drawings, specifications, and design narratives, is preferred. Proficiency in REVIT is required. Qualified candidates must be able to fulfill essential job functions, as listed below.
What to Expect
This position is best suited for a task-oriented individual that can both work individually and with a team in an open office environment. In addition to HVAC/mechanical design, the individual will perform assessments of existing systems and on-site inspections during construction. The individual will be required to produce their designs in Revit.
Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Have a good understanding relevant codes and guideline related to HVAC/Mechanical design
- Perform cooling and heating load calculations
- Select HVAC/Mechanical equipment
- Layout and size HVAC ductwork and piping systems
- Specify controls for Mechanical systems (DDC/BAS)
- Write and edit specifications
- Perform site assessments of existing HVAC/Mechanical systems
- Perform shop drawing (submittal) reviews
- Perform site visits
Minimum Requirements
- BSME, EI Certification
- 2+ years of experience
- Proficiency in Revit
- Experience with Microsoft 365
- Experience with Load Calculation software such as Trace 3D
