Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Kubernetes/Rancher Architect to join our team in the Defense/IT Consulting sector. This senior-level position requires a deep understanding of Kubernetes, Rancher, and cloud-native development. The ideal candidate will design and implement scalable solutions, mentor team members, and ensure the security and efficiency of our core services.

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident with an active Secret clearance.

Rate: $90 - $100 / hr. w2

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement solutions leveraging a Kubernetes Rancher cluster.

  • Configure hardware, peripherals, and services.

  • Manage settings and storage.

  • Deploy cloud-native applications.

  • Monitor and support a Kubernetes environment.

  • Troubleshoot issues.

  • Promote security, efficiency, and scalability of core services and capabilities.

  • Mentor team members on Kubernetes and Rancher operations and deployments.

Experience Requirements:

  • At least 3-5+ years of experience working with Kubernetes and Docker. 8+ years’ experience without a degree.

  • Experience working on open-source projects.

  • Strong expertise in DevOps and CI/CD implementation using Jenkins.

  • Thorough knowledge of cloud-native development.

  • Understanding of microservice design and architectural patterns.

  • Familiarity with complex event processing and event-driven architecture.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering (or 8+ years of direct Kubernetes implementation experience and a certification in Rancher or a Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA))

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

  • Certified Rancher Administrator

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
