Animal Eye Center of NJ is hiring a Full- Time Veterinary Technician  to join our Ophthalmology team!

A skilled Veterinary Ophthalmic Technician is a crucial component to the success of any ophthalmology practice, as they directly affect the ophthalmologist's ability to diagnose and treat ocular disease.

Shift Details = Monday – Friday, NO weekends or overnights.

    Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of technical experience

  • Technical skill set such as restraint, phlebotomy, catheter placement and general nursing care experience is needed

  • Preference given to applicants with advanced skill sets which include Schirmer tear tests, tonometry, ocular ultrasounds, electroretinograms, and the use of paralytics

  • Anesthesia monitoring, perform sterile scrub, assist doctors throughout a variety of surgical procedures

  • Ability to lift and restrain patients up to 50lbs

  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment

  • Commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Advocate for patient care

  • Self-motivated with a passion for veterinary medicine

  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast- paced environment

  • CVT preferred
