Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The maintenance technician will be performing preventative maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment for plastic blow molding manufacturing.
Responsibilities
Responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining the operational readiness of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment.
Evaluate parts for defects (i.e., breakage and excessive wear) and repair or replace broken, defective, or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment.
Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems and decide what to do about it.
Maintain knowledge of the safe and proper start-up, shutdown, and operation of all process, production, support, and auxiliary equipment up to achieving acceptable production rates and product specifications as established by leadership.
Perform setups and changeovers of production equipment based on established standards to the point that acceptable product is obtained at the direction of leadership.
Reassemble equipment after completion of repairs, including the inspection, and testing of repairs following all safety protocols. Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
Test the operations of machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices.
Perform maintenance and repairs of production equipment in a manner that generates the highest level of production and quality to meet customer demands. Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
Perform routine inspections of machines and finished parts using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.
Align, clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
Utilize blueprints, manufacturers' manuals, and process guides to determine correct installation and operation of machinery.
Responsible for the installation of new equipment, including equipment and process modifications in an acceptable manner as assigned.
Support other production team members by performing maintenance on machines in a timely manner.
Essential Skills
2+ years of industrial maintenance experience
Experience with PLC troubleshooting
Experience with schematics, blueprints, pneumatics
Additional Skills & Qualifications
2-year technical degree
Experience with maintenance management software

Work Environment
Plastic manufacturing environment with six blow molding lines. The maintenance team consists of 5 technicians (2 on 1st shift, 1 on 2nd shift, and 2 on 3rd shift). The work hours are Monday to Friday, 6:45 am to 3 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Little Canada, Minnesota.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00
