Actalent Test Technician in Lititz, Pennsylvania

Job Title: Test Technician

Job Description: The test technician will perform automated and bench testing by following acceptance test procedures to verify product performance, compliance, and safety. When a product does not meet specifications, the test technician will perform basic troubleshooting to determine the cause of failure and create non-compliance reports.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Test electronic units using standard test equipment and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine the need for adjustment.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.

  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling electronic units, applying knowledge of electronics theory and components.

  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working independently or with engineers.

  • Identify complex problems and evaluate options to implement a solution.

  • Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment.

  • Assemble, test, and maintain test equipment or electronic systems according to engineering instructions.

  • Maintain inventory of test equipment, related documentation, and location of equipment.

  • Maintain working knowledge of test equipment, tools, or software by attending workshops or other training.

  • Watch gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure the proper operation of machines, environmental chambers, and electronic equipment.

  • Determine the type of tools and equipment needed to perform a specific job.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business goals and objectives.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge and ability to use various hand tools, measuring devices, lab standards, and test equipment.

  • Oscilloscope

  • Multimeter

  • Spectrum Analyzer

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Windows.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Capable of handling constant changes in priorities.

  • Knowledgeable in electronics and computer equipment, testing and processing, and troubleshooting circuit components.

  • Knowledge of incoming test requirements, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effectiveness of the testing process.

Qualifications:

  • An associate’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or military training.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate test systems, test equipment, computer systems, and troubleshoot.

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize test software and platforms.

  • Ability to use various hand tools, measuring devices, lab standards, and test equipment.

  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.

Work Environment:

  • Production Environment: The position requires physical capability to work in a production environment for up to 9 hours a day, including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Hours:

  • Second Shift- Monday through Thursday: 3:30pm – 1:00am; Friday: 3:30pm-12:30 am; occasional additional hours as needed.

  • Third Shift- S unday through Wednesday: 10:30pm – 8:00am; every other Thursday: 10:30pm - 7:00 am; occasional additional hours as needed.

  • 9/80 work schedule:

  • 44 hours 1 week, 36 hours 2nd week

  • Every other Friday off
