WestRock Company Production Scheduler in Lithia Springs, Georgia
The Opportunity
The Production Scheduler is responsible for creating production schedules for manufacturing that safely and efficiently maximize plant production and minimizes cost to produce a quality product within specifications to customers. Their goal is to employ adequate service levels and product available to customers while being the liaison to the Customer Support, Supply & Operations Planning processes.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
Schedule production across multiple shifts to include:
Establish daily production plan(s)
Track orders and production information, adjust as necessary
Maintain superior customer satisfaction through on-time if full delivery
Daily coordination with production, customer service, graphics, maintenance, and shipping
Responsible to ensure maximum utilization and efficiency of all assets, including:
Maintain maximum possible total product availability
Maintain flexibility to make optimum use of assets
Help control business cost through schedule/mix management
minimize freight costs through disciplined schedule management
minimize paper waste and paper substitutions
minimize downtime, change orders, and manpower
Optimize the network through proactive order management flexing between locations and assets resulting in increased throughput, decreased cost to serve and maximum service
Create and maintain reports for above responsibilities ensuring alignment to goals
Generate machine capacity plans as part of the Demand & Supply Planning Process
Analyze machine run metrics to ensure availability is consistent with demand
Manage and update the speed and availability data by machine that drive the supply demand model in support of the IBP process
Report capacity allocation by account for those where capacity is reserved
Collaborate with all functional business units to ensure alignment of strategic initiatives
In sold out cycles, work w/ Customer Support and Inventory management to maximize sales order/replenishment and execute customer priorities.
In under sold cycles, work with Customer Support, Demand, and Inventory management teams to identify opportunities to optimally utilize available capacity.
Maintain standards, rules, exceptions, and customer tolerances
Perform other duties as assigned by manager that fall within the scope and level of role
What you need to succeed:
Bachelor\u2019s degree Preferred
APICS Certification Preferred
1-5 years\u2019 experience in a process manufacturing environment (scheduling preferred)
Strong analytical skills
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Ability to plan and organizing workload
