Aerotek Shipping Lead in Litchfield Park, Arizona

Job Title: Shipping Lead

Pay: $18.50 - $26/hr

Job Description

The Shipping Lead will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of finished goods in the shipping process, efficiently controlling productivity, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring accurate documentation for shipments. Shipping Leads are responsible for leading and training all associates under this position. They are responsible for the safe movement and loading of all customers' products. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of logistics.

  • Leading a team of 4 to help ensure all shipments' accuracy and production processes are being followed

  • Provide performance feedback to the team and execute warehouse plans provided by the supervisor

  • Must be willing to process and maintain commercial invoicing and documents

  • Conduct and attend internal meetings with supervisors and managers, working well in a team environment to provide constant communication

  • Effectively provide shipment status

  • Adhere to tight deadlines

  • Must be willing to provide ideas for continuous improvement

Shipping Operations:

• Oversee the entire shipping process, from order placement to final delivery, ensuring timely and accurate shipments.

• Liaise with carriers and internal departments to schedule and track shipments.

• Prepare shipping documents, including packing lists and customs forms, in compliance with applicable regulations.

• Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and handling of goods to prevent damage or loss during transportation.

Monitor Shipment Progress:

• Track shipments and maintain accurate records of shipping activities, including shipment status, delivery dates, and any delays or issues encountered.

• Communicate shipment updates to internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers, ensuring all parties are informed about the progress of their orders.

• Proactively identify and resolve any shipping-related problems or discrepancies to minimize delays and ensure customer satisfaction.

Customer Service:

• Provide excellent customer service by promptly addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests related to shipping.

• Ensure customers receive accurate and timely information regarding their orders, including tracking details and delivery schedules.

• Prepare and maintain accurate shipping records, including bills of lading, shipping logs, and other required documentation.

• Measure, audit, and report on business processes and process improvements.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position.

Climate controlled DC, Mon-Fri 6a-2:30p
