International Technical Specialist - Power Architecture in Lisle, Illinois
Position Overview
International’s Central Systems and Architecture team develops system level requirements for International’s vehicle functions, as well as defines vehicle network, functional and communications architecture constructs. The Technical Specialist - Power Architecture, will be responsible for developing system requirements documentation for a given area of systems; including, but not limited to, system definition, function and module I/O allocation, and system-level technical support.
This position will be located at International’s design center in Lisle, Illinois. Occasional support may also be required at International’s test and production facilities, as well as occasional onsite support at suppliers and customers.
Responsibilities
Development of electrical system specifications and requirements
Lead development of system FMEA documentation
Definition of and participation in execution of system test processes
Problem solving and implementing solutions to hardware and control software issues
Work in a team and contribute to the continuous improvement activities through participation in Lean projects, technical knowledge capture, process improvements etc.
Mentor less experienced engineers
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 12 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies and/or computer science experience
At least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies
OR
Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 8 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies and/or computer science experience
At least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies
OR
PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 5 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies or specialized technologies and/or computer science experience
At least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
Significant experience and knowledge of power architecture
Experience with requirement documentation and system engineering
Experience with Vehicle Control System design
Experience with engineering and quality design and development methodologies: (8D, FMEA, DVP&R)
Embedded hardware design and development experience
CAN and/or J1939 development and debugging experience beneficial
Experience with EMC/RFI performance and testing beneficial
