International Sourcing and Readiness Team Lead in Lisle, Illinois

Position Overview

Join Our Team as a Sourcing and Readiness Team Lead!

International Procurement is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Sourcing and Readiness Team Lead. In this dynamic role, you will lead, mentor, and support a team of four sourcing and readiness managers, ensuring quality execution and timely New Product Launches.

As a Sourcing and Readiness Team Lead, you will oversee assigned direct material categories, managing all purchasing activities from initial part release through to new program launch. This includes quoting and sourcing according to the predefined category strategy, and managing supplier readiness and component industrialization from tool kick-off through program launch. You and your team will be responsible for meeting key program objectives related to timing, total cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Support & Mentor: Guide and support team members to foster their growth and development.

  • Performance Management: Oversee team metrics and performance goals to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with cross-functional teams, vendors, and management.

  • Product Sourcing: Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams to source products according to the CMT strategy, ensuring they meet cost, timing, and quality targets.

  • Negotiation: Negotiate costs, tooling, and timelines to meet program objectives.

  • Supplier Implementation: Develop and monitor supplier implementation plans to align with program expectations.

  • Problem Solving: Anticipate potential issues and proactively manage changes to keep projects on track and within budget.

  • Deadline Management: Handle tight deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Initiative Driving: Lead initiatives that support the team with activity tracking and early risk identification.

  • Status Reporting: Regularly update on your team’s progress and status across various programs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

  • At least 8 years of purchasing/procurement experience

  • At least 2 years of management experience

OR

  • Master's degree

  • At least 6 years of purchasing/procurement experience

  • At least 2 years of management experience

OR

  • At least 10 years of purchasing/procurement experience

  • At least 2 years of management experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills

  • Proven success in both formal and informal leadership roles.

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

  • Familiarity with truck and/or engine products and components.

  • Strong understanding of procurement processes is desirable.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate at all levels within the organization and supply base.

  • Ability to motivate and collaborate in a team-oriented environment.

  • Well-developed critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

  • Experience in negotiation.

  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts.

  • Experience in New Product Development Implementation is desirable.
