International Entry-Level Electrical Engineer in Lisle, Illinois

We are looking for a talented Entry-Level Electrical Engineer that enjoys trucks and buses, design, and is passionate about managing and developing passive electrical components. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for developing component requirements, component design, reliability & quality issue resolution, supplier management and component validation. The candidate will work closely with internal teams to capture requirements for designs and manage suppliers through development and validation per program timing.
This individual will provide technical and analytical support to the broader Research and Development group. They will also serve as an engineering resource for the delivery of vehicle components via design, engineering change management, vehicle component integration, issue resolution, manufacturing issues, validation testing, supplier quality, and purchasing as the products move through the program gates from concept to production and distribution.
Responsibilities
Collaborate cross functionally with many departments globally to collect and document component design requirements.
Lead electrical component development from initial concepts through design, validation, and launch into production.
Produce design documentation in support of electrical component validation.
Generate ideas through benchmarking.
Initiate engineering changes for cost reduction, new programs & quality improvement.
Ability to interface with suppliers for component development and manage the overall timing to align with programing milestones.
Support manufacturing, customer service, dealer, and customer base with any field issues as components move into production.
Working directly with the program management teams to communicate component development status.
Provide support to other engineering departments within the Traton family of companies regarding electrical component development, validation, substitutions, and deviations.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
OR
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and will obtain degree prior to first day of employment
Additional Requirements

Desired Skills

Experience with electrical component development for the commercial truck market.
Experience with harness components (connectors, terminals, relays, fuses, switches, breakers) for low voltage and high voltage (electric vehicle) applications.
Experience with engineering standards, failure analysis, and quality practices, including: dFMEA, 8D, SAE standards, ISO standards, Lean, and DFSS.
Understanding of reliability and quality metrics as it relates to product validation.
Experience with oscilloscope, voltmeter, and basic functional/electrical testing.
Experience with packaging studies and 3D data reviews/direction.
Experience with Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, Teams, and Jira.
Experience with research and development and manufacturing processes.
Excellent verbal, technical writing, interpersonal and organizational skills.
