The Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) within Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an exceptionally talented, motivated, and creative Material Control Operations Manager , responsible for supporting our weekend operations at our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located outside of Baltimore, Maryland - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs.

Northrop Grumman’s ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, and Silicon Carbide) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. The chosen candidate will be the Manager for Material Control Operations and will be responsible for directing, planning, and managing work on their shift. The Material Control Operations Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of represented employees working in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Planning, scheduling and managing the efficient movement of material from receiving or the storerooms to production to meet engineering and production schedules

  • Use Material Planning and Inventory systems like SAP and Factory Works to monitor and manage material movement and storage

  • Provide direction and guidance to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies

  • Responsible for daily operations of a team (direct supervision of the staff, assignment of work, schedules, and day to day workflow).

  • Involved in staffing decisions, training, and driving engagement efforts to achieve the employee's highest potential

This position is for 4th Shift – Fri, Sat, Sun – 7am to 7pm

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations or related field with 5 years of related experience OR Associates 7 years (HS Diploma with 9 years of related work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree)

  • Minimum of five (5) years of operations, material planning, or supply chain management experience.

  • Experience with basic manufacturing and production concepts

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Experience in the semiconductor industry

  • US citizenship is required.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government DoD Secret clearance within a timeframe set forth by management

  • Must be able to work 4th Shift – Fri, Sat, Sun – 7am to 7pm

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current/active Secret clearance.

  • Prior experience leading diverse teams.

  • Experience working with SAP and MES. #NGMCFab

Salary Range: $109,800 - $164,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
