Position Summary

Supports the Brand teams in adapting and/or commissioning Packaging Design based on the brand’s guidelines and/or internal standards. Responsible for creating and delivering adaptative packaging projects (flat design) and digital mockups to support concept development or rollout of new product concepts, identities and/or guideline updates, guaranteeing the correct application of packaging design systems to ensure design consistency to support Design Excellence at Nestlé. The Packaging Adaptation Designer works independently yet collaborates with cross-functional teams in Lisbon and Global to receive packaging adaptation briefs and brand understanding. When required, the role may involve interaction with Brand Guardians and/or Strategic Agencies when further guidance or input is needed .

A day in the life of...

-Supports, facilitates, and executes design activities as part of the implementation of new or established packaging design systems and/or brand identities across diverse markets and languages, adapting flat design files and/or creating digital mockups.

-Ensures the accuracy, consistency, and alignment of Brand Standards in all delivered projects, regardless of the packaging purpose (concept, promo pack, displays, etc.) and the language displayed

-Based on Brand Guidelines, produces high-quality crafted and visually compelling packaging digital prototypes/mockups to showcase and evaluate product concepts and/or guideline applications to allow stakeholders to visualize the final product.

-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure packaging designs are aligned with product positioning and marketing strategies.

-Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of their communication objectives and initial briefs, ensuring the successful execution of packaging design projects, as well as adhering to established brand guidelines and working towards achieving brand objectives.

-Supports cross functional teams in testing and visualizing new brand guidelines applied in diverse packaging formats and brands.

-Ensures that all work product adheres to Nestlé Design Global Ways of Working, including the use of internal digital tools to publish the packaging design files as well as the Usage Rights documents

-Work closely with the E-content team to ensure fidelity of packaging adaptation for improving online visualization of CGIs on e-commerce platforms, retailer sites, hero images, and more.

-Collaborate with the D2D Team when uploading the adapted Design Masterfiles in Nestlé’s official system allowing the team to continue the workflow process inside the tool.

What will make you successful

• 3+ years experience in packaging design, preferably with a portfolio that includes experience with food & beverage global brands.

• Impressive Packaging Design Portfolio showcasing both packaging renders and design execution

• Strong understanding of packaging design and brand principles, and excellent graphic design skills.

• Highly proficient in Adobe CC, and comfortable with workflows and digital asset management systems.

• Experience in ensuring the application of brand standards across different packaging formats and purposes.

• Able to navigate across diverse brands while maintaining a deep understanding of their unique behaviors and characteristics.

• Experience in applying brand guidelines in Packaging Adaptation projects.

• Ideally with experience having successfully rolled out new identities in Packaging Design projects.

• Keen Eye for detail and passion for adapting standards

• At minimum Bachelor’s degree preferred in Design, Communications, Brand Strategy or a related field.

• Excellent written and spoken English skills.

• Clear communication skills with excellent response times

• Team and results-oriented attitude where work is approached with empathy, enthusiasm, ownership, responsibility, adaptability, balance and resilience

• Work collaboratively with teams
