JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for leading and coordinating a crew of employees to ensure the proper and safe completion of the required work, including leading staff, providing training, and contributing to and ensuring work is completed per specifications. Specific responsibilities include assisting in repairs and maintenance to support construction and maintenance operations, assisting in developing, implementing and maintaining preventive maintenance schedules and procedures as they apply to the electrical equipment and systems for projects, manual updates, and oversees test equipment and technology associated with the maintenance of electrical systems to keep information organized and current. This position may work overtime and/or odd hours during storm restoration, mutual aid, etc. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs and directs all phases of the construction, operation, and maintenance of energized and deenergized network, overhead, and underground facilities and streetlights while ensuring the safety of themselves, fellow workers, and the general public, in accordance with LES procedures, policies, practices, and safety rules.
Assists supervisor in prioritizing and assigning work for staff, ensures staff is trained, monitors performance, and provides input for performance appraisals, training requirements, and hiring recommendations.
Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work policies and processes, and work practices to increase efficiency, reliability, effectiveness, and customer service
Implements, reviews, and modifies maintenance or construction procedures, methods, or materials within guidelines to solve maintenance or construction problems and maintains assigned equipment.
Completes, reviews, and approves various reports, forms, and job-related papers to include timesheets, work orders/tickets, mileage reports, accident reports, expense reports, switching and clearing orders, etc.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates degree in related field, and
First Class status and a minimum of one year of experience in area of assignment, or
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid commercial driver’s license
Asbestos Supervisor License or the ability to obtain within 12 months
