About the Role:

As a machinist at New Empire, you will set up and operate CNC Lathes, Vertical and Horizontal CNC mills, Horizontal 4 Axis CNC machines, as well as manual mills and lathes in the manufacturing of firearm components. You will be required to maintain operation of your machinery, upkeep, and adherence to the quality standards and tolerances provided. Individuals best suited for this role are detail-oriented self-starters, who take ownership of their production and work area. The ability to work in collaboration with automation robots may also be required. Your direct input for manufacturing standards and efficiency will also be requested. You may also be responsible for input towards set up sheets and quality control standards for different machine centers and operations. This is a fast-paced and varied work environment with an excellent crew and workplace culture.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Able to read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications
  • Experience in the direct set-up of CNC Lathes, Vertical and Horizontal CNC mills, Horizontal 4 Axis CNC machines as well as operation of manual mills and lathes
  • Able to adhere to work order documentation and QC procedures
  • Strong understanding of QC testing and ability to adhere in a high volume, production atmosphere
  • Willing and able to develop machine set-ups, tool offset corrections, basic G code programming, and inspection of parts and offer input for improvement
  • Able to work well as a team member to manage and build relationships across departments
  • Able to adhere to all safety guidelines and instructions
  • Able to maintain a clean and efficient workspace
  • Able to troubleshoot with relation to work holding, tool selection, speeds, feeds, etc.
  • At least one (1+) years' experience in programming and set-up of CNC Machines
  • At least one (1+) of experience working in a machining environment
  • Proficiency in completing machine set-ups in accordance with set-up documentation
  • Able to read, understand, and program G-Code
  • Legally able to handle firearms and firearm components
  • Legally able to work in the United States
