Family Resource Home Care Billing Assistant in Liberty Lake, Washington

Job purpose

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Billing Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with billing-related tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, and maintaining accurate records. Proficiency in Excel is a must for this role, as you will be required to input and analyze data regularly.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Responding to phone calls and email inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.

  • Assisting with billing inquiries and promptly resolving customer issues to ensure satisfaction.

  • Collaborating with long-term care (LTC) companies to manage invoicing and billing processes.

  • Reviewing incoming mail daily and ensuring proper distribution to the relevant departments.

  • Generate and deliver invoices to customers via our AXC software.

  • Process incoming payments for client and payer accounts.

  • Assist with client account reconciliations and issue refunds as needed.

  • Prepare tax statements or other backup documents as requested by clients and payers.

  • Research and solve all client questions and resolve problems in a timely and respectful manner.

  • Support RCM projects and initiatives as directed by supervisor.

  • Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in billing or a related field is a plus

  • Demonstratable organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.

  • Excellent phone and email communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working conditions

The Billing Assistant will spend 100% of their time in an office environment indoors. This will require time both spent at a computer station for office work and standing for training.

The usual business hours for this role will be Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, however this role may require overtime during projects. This role is office-based and requires in-person attendance; it is not a remote position.

This position will require travel as appropriate, approximately 5% of the time.

This position will have moderate supervision.

Physical requirements

Role may require frequent standing, walking, sitting, and keyboarding. Occasional twisting, climbing stairs, stooping, bending, kneeling or squatting. Seldom work above shoulders, and operation of equipment.

Position will require the employee to talk and hear.

Lifting can range from frequent 10 lbs. or less to seldom lifting of greater than 50 lbs.
