Special Information: Work will involve planning, coordinating, and prioritization of fisheries and aquatic science research activities identified by the biologist and regional fish manager and may require occasional changes and re-organization of work schedules and overnight travel. Working conditions are routinely hazardous. Technicians will work in and around water on lakes, rivers, and streams that may be dangerous. Extreme caution and rigorous protocol must be followed to prevent exposure to serious health hazards indoors and outdoors. Occasional exposure to outdoor hazards such as severe weather, water hazards, and extreme terrain is expected. Requires lifting heavy objects and carrying up to 75 lbs. on uneven terrain which may expose the employee to slick walking surfaces. In addition, work in and around watercraft is expected. Contacts include a wide variety of individuals such as federal, state, and local governments, distressed landowners or anglers that may have conflicting issues and concerns.
