Actalent Electrical Engineer in Lexington Park, Maryland

Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Engineer to join our team. You will work alongside a team of electrical engineers and engineering technicians to develop engineering procedures and controls, manage project efforts, and take the lead in problem resolution. This role involves interfacing with program contractors and vendors regarding the technical aspects of engineering projects, test scheduling, planning, and test conduct. You will research and assist with the design and integration of high power transmitter systems and operate and maintain high voltage equipment used to perform electromagnetic capability testing. Additionally, you will plan and conduct electromagnetic compatibility simulation testing, data collection, processing, and analyses, as well as identify system malfunctions and coordinate repair and maintenance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engineering procedures and controls

  • Manage project efforts and lead problem resolution

  • Interface with program contractors and vendors regarding technical aspects of projects

  • Schedule, plan, and conduct tests

  • Research, design, and integrate high power transmitter systems

  • Operate and maintain high voltage equipment for electromagnetic capability testing

  • Plan and conduct electromagnetic compatibility simulation testing, data collection, processing, and analyses

  • Identify system malfunctions and coordinate repair and maintenance

Essential Skills

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or other relevant fields

  • 3+ years of field experience with RF systems

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment

  • Knowledge and experience using electronic test equipment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to obtain a clearance

  • Experience with high powered systems and electromagnetic compatibility testing

  • Eligibility for security clearance

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with RF systems including radars and magnetrons

  • Experience working as a team lead

  • Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors

Work Environment

This position is based onsite at Navair in Pax River. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM. You will be part of a small team environment supporting the testing and troubleshooting of aviation electronics and evaluating various environmental effects on the systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $57.69/hr.
