KBR is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) efforts related to Aviation Product Lifecycle Management (AvPLM) who will provide Database Administration support for the AvPLM IPT and its customers. This includes maintaining application software, monitoring and troubleshooting issues within the software environment, forecasting and planning for application capacity and demand, in addition to other tasks. As a DBA, the database will be your primary focus, but you will be looked to for Java troubleshooting as it relates to the other teams as well as any scripting and automation needs. Microsoft SQL is primarily what you will work in with the potential for Oracle when working with other outside teams. As a DBA, you will regularly interact with other Infrastructure Administration sub-teams to support the AvPLM Cloud environments as well as a litany of supporting applications (to include Siemens Teamcenter PLM suite and eQube MI). To support this, you will work alongside other sub-team SAs as well as members from the Applications Administration team to perform a variety of infrastructure and integration activities. This will include collaboration with the AWS GovCloud hosted system boundary for the AvPLM environments as well as use of AWS Cloud Native Services to perform normal daily duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform daily checks of IT systems. Triage, monitor, and work NAVAIR National Help Desk support tickets. Complete Configuration Change Control Board (CCB) requests. Perform general IT requirements, installation, configuration, maintenance, and security in an unclassified network environment for applications, databases, integrations, or infrastructure as assigned. Troubleshoot the hardening of database applications in compliance with DoD RMF policies.
Support database performance monitoring, including monitoring disk space and resource utilization, capacity, and availability. Advise on and support database interactions for software installation, configuration, and patching. Provide troubleshooting support using applications logs and Windows logs. Coordinate outsourced help requests. Assist with coordination of Maintenance Scheduling. Assist with license and subscription management. Possess the ability to work well independently and as part of a team. Attend and contribute to Teams collaboration meetings for new requirements, troubleshooting/diagnosis, monitoring, and server-side application support. Assist with documenting processes and procedures and keeping documentation updated. Provide weekend and after-hours support as required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience: A bachelor’s degree in an IT related field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering) plus 4 years experience OR 12 years of experience in a related field in lieu of a degree.
Clearance & Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required. Active Secret clearance or clearance eligibility, Single Scope Background Investigation.
Certification: Security+ CE and an OS (Operating System) Certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience supporting the DoD community.
This position offers a flexible remote working environment.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week
Compensation: $90,000-120,000. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
