Join Siemens Rolling Stock in Lexington, NC as an Factory Commissioning Test Engineer and become an integral part of our operations. As a Factory Commissioning Test Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of locomotive and coach cars by performing electrical and mechanical commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairs. Utilizing state-of-the-art diagnostic test equipment, you will identify and resolve complex issues, working independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Perform electrical and mechanical commissioning on locomotive and coach cars

  • Troubleshoot, document and repair electrical and mechanical failures

  • Work with state-of-the-art dialogistic test equipment.

  • Understand and comply with company and industry safety standards.

  • Communicate with others, verbally and in writing, technical information, job procedure recommendations, and other work-related information.

  • Have ability to work independently and among a team with multi-disciplinary backgrounds.

  • Read, interpret and understand written or electronic schematics.

  • Use PTU’s to troubleshoot various systems onboard light rail, locomotive and coach vehicles.

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • High school diploma (or GED)

  • Experience with electrical testing in the past 3 years

  • Must be proficient in electrical, pneumatic, mechanical troubleshooting

The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
