Job Summary
The Oce of Financial Stability at the University of Kentucky is seeking to hire a University Student Financial Aid Executive Director.

This position serves as the university’s chief nancial aid administrator. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Financial Stability, the University Student Financial Aid Executive Director provides inuential and collaborative leadership as the central University representative for student nancial aid and is responsible for the oversight and strategic allocation of student nancial aid to advance the university’s goals, mission, and vision. This includes federally funded Title IV, state and other University nancial aid programs. The University Student Financial Aid Executive Director ensures that the highest level of customer service is provided; that reporting, processing and overall operations of the Student Financial Aid Oce are carried out effectively. This position is a key member of the Financial Stability leadership team supporting all goals tied to enrollment, retention and graduation strategic initiatives.

This position provides leadership in the development of scholarship strategies to leverage the University of Kentucky’s academic and special scholarship programs as eciently and effectively as possible. This includes working with university partners to create more customized programs for underserved populations to increase yield, retention, and graduation rates. The University Student Financial Aid Executive Director will also advise university administration of changes in federal and state nancial aid policies and programs and recommend action as necessary. This position also serves as the liaison to the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) and the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) as necessary. The position will also ensure nancial aid policies and procedures are in compliance with nancial aid laws, rules, and regulations.

Ideal candidates for this position will have demonstrated ability to create and implement nancial aid strategies, work collaboratively with university partners, lead technology and operations innovation to guide ecient and effective programs and processes, utilize data and analytics for informed decision-making, manage staff, and communicate effectively to varied audiences regarding nancial aid programs, strategy, rules and regulations.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The Executive Director of Financial Aid will possess a strategic understanding of the integral role of student nancial aid in supporting student enrollment, student success and student services; and will have knowledge of nancial aid trends as they relate to the use and delivery of student nancial aid. The successful candidate will have a record of success in a complex environment; demonstrated skill in leading and developing a large professional staff; excellent communication skills; a thorough knowledge of nancial aid programs; an uncompromising commitment to quality service and student advocacy; and experience with the application of information technology to the nancial aid process. This position requires an individual with a good eye for detail, exceptional organizational and time-management skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to travel as needed.
