Schneider Electric USA, Inc Manufacturing Engineering Internship: Fall 2024 in Lexington, Kentucky

Schneider Electric has a great opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Internship in our Lexington, KY facility for Fall 2024. This position is on-site, so the ideal candidate must be located in the general area.

This Manufacturing Engineering Intern will be part of our Warehouse Transformation team supporting both the Supply Chain and Methods Departments. The role will work closely with our operations team to identify, analyze, and improve existing systems and processes in our warehouses. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in process improvement, project management, and industrial engineering.

What will your responsibilities be?
Analyze data collected from operations, identifying trends, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Supply Chain, Methods, and Operations, to ensure the successful implementation of process improvements.
Collaborate with the warehouse team to understand operational challenges and propose innovative solutions.
Assist in the implementation of new technologies and systems to enhance warehouse functionality.
Develop and maintain new process documentation to ensure future standardization.
Analyze data collected from operations, identifying trends, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement.
Support the Warehouse Transformation Team on implementing Schneider Production Standards to establish, maintain, and enhance the warehouse and processes with a focus on reducing waste, improving quality, continuous improvement, and safety.
Supporting the implementation of AGVs in warehouse/production environment
Setting up new warehouse picking/supermarket areas and deployment of material routings.
Participate in Smart Factory initiatives including preparation and deployment of smart tools like E-Kanban and E-Performance.
Develop standardized work instructions.

What qualifications will make you successful?
Actively pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
Possess leadership qualities and the ability to facilitate conflicts.
Are self-motivated and self-directed with a sense of urgency.
Have a solid work ethic - honors responsibility and commitment.
Have strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Possess excellent communication and team collaboration skills (English language)
Possess proven ability to achieve results
Have exceptional leadership, interpersonal, problem solving, project management, and communication skills.
Have the ability to set overall priorities and form action plans to implement and monitor for results.
