What are our expectations?
Reporting to the Supervisor, this position supports the optimal facility operations, EH&S initiatives, and drives continuous improvement. We are seeking a Manufacturing Technical Support Specialist with expertise in contractor management, project management, electronics, and technical troubleshooting. The ideal candidate has a background in electrical engineering, business management, computer science, or a related field, combined with technical mechanical abilities, business and project management experience.
What your day to day will look like
Design, develop, and test power equipment, industrial control systems, and telecommunications networks.
Inspect, adjust, and evaluate electrical and electro-mechanical components for compliance with specifications.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate electrical and electronic equipment.
Operate and analyze specialized test equipment to diagnose system performance.
Oversee facility operations, project planning, and preventative maintenance programs.
Troubleshoot HVAC, air compressors, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer LANs, WANs, and mainframe networks.
Diagnose and maintain measurement and control instruments for manufacturing and processing.
Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and vendor contracts.
Champion EH&S programs, ensure compliance, and conduct safety training and inspections.
Investigate workplace incidents and enforce safety protocols.
The tools you need to be successful
This multi-faceted role calls for a candidate with extensive experience in machining, preferably with:
Completion of a two- or three-year college program in electrical or electronics engineering technology, computer engineering technology, or a related field.
Certification in electrical or electronics engineering technology (preferred).
Minimum two years of supervised work experience.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
Experience in troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and system optimization.
Knowledge of HVAC, building management systems, and industrial instrumentation.
Familiarity with SAP and other maintenance tracking tools.
Ability to constructively resolve conflicts while maintaining a professional and positive image.
Versatility and eagerness to learn new skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a proactive approach to partnering with others.
Flexibility to be on call and support urgent operational needs.
Strong mechanical aptitude and exceptional problem-solving skills.
Physical capability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds, bend, reach, and work with hand tools.
