Aerotek Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift in Lenexa, Kansas
Job Description
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment on flexographic printing presses, bag machines, slitters, laminating equipment, etc.
Install, start-up, and shut-down equipment according to safety procedures.
Work with equipment vendors on installation of new equipment and coordinate efforts of equipment vendors for repairs of production equipment and building components.
Conduct daily inspections of and perform maintenance as needed on incinerator equipment, air compressors, conveyors, and compactors.
Perform preventative maintenance on printing and converting equipment according to schedule and specifications.
Communicate with production personnel regarding problems or potential problems with equipment.
Identify major components needed for inventory and order parts.
Maintain required maintenance records for equipment.
Assist and train other maintenance personnel as required.
Manage and handle hazardous waste.
Participate in and complete training for D.O.T. responsibilities within 3 months of hire date and complete ongoing training at least every 3 years.
Follow safety guidelines, wear designated Personal Protective Equipment, and meet OSHA safety requirements.
Follow written Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), follow Safe Quality Food (SQF) programs applicable to the position, and perform various cleaning and inspection duties to maintain SQF and food safety compliance as assigned. Report any potential GMP violations to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Essential Skills
5+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
Strong experience with pneumatics.
Basic welding experience - Mig on steel.
Electrical troubleshooting - AC/DC and high voltage equipment up to 480V.
Maintenance experience on flexographic printing presses (desired but not required).
PLC troubleshooting ability (strongly desired but not required).
Work Environment
The facility is fairly large and not climate controlled. Inks and solvents create a strong odor in the plant, similar to a nail salon. The role involves frequent standing and walking during working hours, as well as sitting, bending, stooping, and twisting. You must be able to use hand tools, stand for the duration of the shift (8+ hours/day), and repeatedly lift up to 70 pounds. Overtime may be required. The team consists of 10 technicians working the 2nd shift from 3pm - 11pm, Monday to Friday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, Kansas.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $31.00
