Summary You will serve as a Firefighter (Intermediate Life Support/ Paramedic) in the Federal Fire Department of NAVAL AIR STATION LEMOORE. GS-09: Pay Range: $60,135- $90,647 GS-08: Pay Range: $54,445- $70,777 Responsibilities You will perform structural firefighting duties for facilities to minimize fire damage. You will employ hazardous materials response procedures and equipment to mitigate hazardous materials incidents. You will operate diagnostic medical equipment (e.g., EKG machines, blood pressure devices) to interpret readings and identify medical treatment needed. You will drive an emergency vehicle (e.g., ambulance, rescue, engine, aerial apparatus) to an emergency services incident. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For the GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department or brigade; 2) Performing rescue operations; 3) Detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards; 4) Operating fire communications equipment; 5) Controlling hazardous material incidents; and 6) Conducting patient assessments/physical exams to determine nature, extent, and seriousness of a patient's condition. NOTE: All your experience must be fully demonstrated in your resume. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications for the GS-09: Firefighter I and II, Airport Firefighter, Hazmat Awareness, Hazmat Operations, Driver/Operator-Pumper/ARFF/ Aerial (only one required), Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic and NR-EMT. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications, you will be rated ineligible. For the GS-08 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing rescue operations; 2) Detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards; 3) Controlling hazardous material incidents; and 4) Employing established emergency medical techniques, methods, and equipment to stabilize patients for support. NOTE: All your experience must be fully demonstrated in your resume. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications for the GS-08: Firefighter I and II, Airport Firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic and NR-EMT. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications with the exception of Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic and NREMT, you will have 12 months to complete the requirements from the date of hire to the full performance GS-09.
