Job Title: General Laborer

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and reliable General Laborer to join our team on-site at the Citgo plant in Lemont, IL, where you will perform industrial cleanup work. Initially, you will demonstrate your reliability by working at our Blue Island shop before transitioning to the refinery site. This role involves various manual labor tasks, including cleaning cooling towers, sweeping, vacuuming sludge, and confined space tank cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor tasks, including cleaning cooling towers and sludge/crude oil removal.

• Sweep and vacuum sludge in cooling towers.

• Clean a filter press that is 10 ft long and 4 ft high.

• Conduct confined space tank cleaning.

• Monitor pressure gauges.

• Assist with other manual labor tasks around the plant.

• Report to the Project Manager on site.

• Attend and complete Three Rivers site-specific training for Citgo Petroleum during the first three days (paid training).

• Show up to work on time and ready to work.

• Follow instructions from the foreman.

Essential Skills

• Experience working in the field or outdoor environment.

• Good work history with minimal job changes.

• Comfortable working in extreme temperatures (heat, cold, wind, etc.).

• Familiarity with proper PPE.

• Good attendance and reliability, validated through references.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• OSHA 40 Hour Certification.

• 10 Hour Construction Certification.

• Experience working in a refinery or industrial environment.

• Experience with environmental cleanup.

Work Environment

This position requires working outside 100% of the time. You will be required to wear steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and a dust suit. The position is first shift, with work hours typically starting at 7 am. Expect to work 10-12 hour shifts, with a potential for 40-70 hours per week, including some 12-hour shifts. The exact schedule may vary based on workload, and you will be notified of your schedule the evening before if you didn't work that day.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lemont, Illinois.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
